We had a good turnout for the meeting.  I made a quick and dirty panoramic picture of the meeting at our great new meeting location which is God Father's Pizza on 2030 West Broadway in Council Bluffs.

Ed Paasch finished his second raffle for the Cobras and that means that we received $500.00.  That's right you didn't hear wrong our club got five hundred dollars and that gets us into the black for 2013!

Ed Paasch has raised $4,000.00 so far for various RC related events and clubs.  We all need to thank Ed for his tireless work to beifit all our Omaha, Council Bluffs Clubs.  Seldom do we see, no never do we see someone helping all the various clubs.

Here is a note from Ed's mailing:

Congratulations to Frank Trouba of the Twin Cities Eagle Squadron for winning the special raffle benefitting the COBRAS club general fund. Frank purchased the winning ticket, number 79, at the Twin Cities planning meeting for the club's Open House Fun Fly.  Frank declined the Flyzone DHC-2 Beaver RTF package in lieu of a more foldable prize.

My thanks go out to all of the RC pilots who have been supporting the special raffles.  Since you all started supporting the special raffles a couple of flying seasons ago, we have raised over $4,000.00 to benefit several local area flying clubs, the Strategic Air and Space Museum, and the AMA Museum in Muncie, Indiana.

Thank Ed from all of us at the Cobras!

Dale Parker "our Treasurer" brought this interesting article on RC model engines that are just like full size V-8's etc.

Here is a picture of Dale Parker presenting his contribution to show and tell.

The Cobras R/C Club is made up of a friendly and helpful group of people.  We have a large grass field that is well maintained and is large enough to take off and land either North/South or East/West.  Not only that but there is nothing to run into when you are flying.  Itís all level open ground.  We have a map to the field so that you will be able to find your way.  The Cobras Field is on the west side of I-29 South of the Bellevue exit.  All but the last couple of miles or so are hard surface roads.  We also have posted on the Field the emergency number to give to the 911 operator so that the emergency unit can quickly find the Field.  That number is 54802. It could be very important if someone had a heart attack or other serious problem.  Be sure to come out to the Field and enjoy the food, flying and camaraderie. If you would like to show everyone your newest creation, that took so much work to build, then bring it to the Cobras Meeting for show and tell. The meetings are the first Wednesday of the month.  In January we combine the meeting with dinner at the Holliday Party.  If you wish to join the Cobras download an application form.
