President Larry Puls called
the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M. at the American Legion Post #2. There
were thirteen members present.
Minutes of the
October 3, 2007 meeting were read. A motion was made to accept the
minutes as read. The motion was seconded and carried.
Dale Parker gave
the Treasurer’s Report. A motion was made to accept the treasurer’s
Report as given. The motion was seconded and carried.
OLD BUSINESS
The members
discussed the condition of the COBRA entrance road. Ideas for repairing
and grading the road were discussed.
Dave Piper
reported that we are invited to display our aircraft at 5:00 PM at the
Children’s Museum, which is located at 19th, and Howard St. The date is
still to be determined. Smaller models and models under construction are
recommended.
Larry Bailey
gave a report of the S.W.I.F.T. Glider Club meeting.
Roger Vaad and
Dale Parker reported on the winterizing and maintenance of the club
tractor.
NEW BUSINESS
Lynn Fehr
announce that we can have a indoor flying site at the Community of Christ
Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Members discussed the day and times for
flying.
Lynn Fehr made a
motion that we accept the indoor flying site on Thursday from 11:30 AM to
1:30 PM. The motion was seconded by Howard Hough and carried.
Larry Bailey
made a motion that Larry Puls get the insurance forms from A.M.A. for Off
Site Flying. The cost will be $20.00. The motion was seconded and
carried.
Election of
officers for 2008 was discussed. It was suggested that the club keep the
current officers if they will continue to serve another term. Elections
will be held at the December 2007 meeting as well as receiving any
nominations from the floor for officers.
Ideas to
increase the membership were discussed.
Dean Dingman
reported on a Texas Dealer who will sell WWI Aircraft and supplies for
cost plus actual shipping costs.
With no further
business a motion was made to adjourn at 8:23 PM. The motion was seconded
and carried.
SHOW AND TELL
Larry Bailey
displayed his Telemaster with modifications.
Dave Piper
showed his home made covering cutter, which is adjustable to different
sizes of covering material.
Keith Paskewitz
showed his new radio system, a J.R. X9303, 2.4 GHz.
Dave Piper
brought a solid model of a Flying Tigers P-40, with an 18” wingspan.
