September, 2007 Minutes



August 1, 2007



President Larry Puls called the meeting to order at 7:04 P.M. with 10 members present at the American Legion Post #2.

            Minutes of the August 1, 2007 meeting were read.  Howard Hough made a motion to accept the minutes as read.  The motion was seconded and carried.

            Dale Parker gave the Treasurerís Report.

A motion was made to accept the treasurerís Report as given.  The motion was seconded and carried.


            After discussion by the members, it was decided to have a Fun Fly on Sunday September 23, 2007.  Chili Dogs will be cooked at the field.



            Larry Bailey gave a report on glider club activities. 

            Larry Puls had received a monetary gift from Loren Blinde, which is to be put in the general fund.



            Dale Parker stated that he had made arrangements for the Christmas Party to be January 2, 2008 at the Golden Corral.  A motion was made to approve this date and location.  The motion was seconded and carried.


            Dean Dingman gave a report on his trip to A.M.A. in Munice, Indiana. 

            Larry Bailey made a motion that we adjourn at 8:04 P.M.  The motion was seconded and carried.



            Keith Paskewitz brought a framed up F-7F Tiger Cat which is a Dave Diels Kit.  It will be a twin electric motor R/C when finished.


            Larry Puls brought a VHS recording showing WWI Biplanes involved in Dog Fights recorded from the History Channel.

The Cobras R/C Club is made up of a friendly and helpful group of people.  We have a large grass field that is well maintained and is large enough to take off and land either North/South or East/West.  Not only that but there is nothing to run into when you are flying.  Itís all level open ground.  We have a map to the field so that you will be able to find your way.  The Cobras Field is on the west side of I-29 South of the Bellevue exit.  All but the last couple of miles or so are hard surface roads.  We also have posted on the Field the emergency number to give to the 911 operator so that the emergency unit can quickly find the Field.  That number is 54802. It could be very important if someone had a heart attack or other serious problem.  Be sure to come out to the Field and enjoy the food, flying and camaraderie. If you would like to show everyone your newest creation, that took so much work to build, then bring it to the Cobras Meeting for show and tell. The meetings are the first Wednesday of the month.  In January we combine the meeting with dinner at the Holliday Party.  If you wish to join the Cobras download an application form.
