November, 2008 Minutes



November 5, 2008



          President Larry Puls called the meeting to order at 7:03 PM at American Legion Post # 2 with 9 members present.

          Secretary Lynn Fehr read the minutes for the October 1, 2008 meeting. 

          Treasurer Dale Parker gave the Treasurerís report. A motion was made by Howard Hough to accept the minutes and the treasurerís report as presented.  Seconded and carried. 




          Larry Puls stated he had Tee shirts for sale at $10.00 each.                             

          Larry reported that Bob Martin and John Spalti had died.

          We had 3 visitors present, Larry Roach, Steve Jordan and Harold Zimmerman. 

          The C.O.B.R.A officers were nominated.

           Dean Dingman gave a report of the Dawn Patrol event.  He gave a run down of the event to our visitors.

          The fence section was discussed.  A motion was made by Roger Vaad to draw money out of the Treasury to pay the balance for the 2 sections.  Seconded and carried.

          The Cobras yearly banquet will be at the Golden Corral on January 7, 2009 at 6:30 PM.

          Larry Roach won the Club Raffle for an airplane kit.

          Dean Dingman brought 2 lens cleaning kits for door prizes.

          As there was no further business, a motion was made to adjourn at 8:10 PM.



          Roger Vaad brought his Nieuport 17 glow powered airplane.

          Howard Hough flew a mini helicopter.

          Larry Puls brought his Delta 1 Flying Wing.

The Cobras R/C Club is made up of a friendly and helpful group of people.  We have a large grass field that is well maintained and is large enough to take off and land either North/South or East/West.  Not only that but there is nothing to run into when you are flying.  Itís all level open ground.  We have a map to the field so that you will be able to find your way.  The Cobras Field is on the west side of I-29 South of the Bellevue exit.  All but the last couple of miles or so are hard surface roads.  We also have posted on the Field the emergency number to give to the 911 operator so that the emergency unit can quickly find the Field.  That number is 54802. It could be very important if someone had a heart attack or other serious problem.  Be sure to come out to the Field and enjoy the food, flying and camaraderie. If you would like to show everyone your newest creation, that took so much work to build, then bring it to the Cobras Meeting for show and tell. The meetings are the first Wednesday of the month.  In January we combine the meeting with dinner at the Holliday Party.  If you wish to join the Cobras download an application form.
