January, 2008 Minutes



January 2, 2008


       President Larry Puls called the meeting to order at 8:02 PM at the Golden Corral Restaurant with 26 people present. He welcomed all who came to the dinner meeting. Each member introduced themselves and their family.

       George Eheman reported on the Old Timer Event Contests for the year. There were 6 contests held this past year with the following winners:
                             1st place Ed Splittgerber – He received two free dinner tickets
                             2nd place Tom Egbert
                             3rd place Larry Bailey

       Dean Dingman gave a report on the Dawn Patrol Event for 2008. Red Bull will sponsor the event.

       Larry Puls presented the following people Certificates of Appreciation:

                            Dale Parker Treasurer
                            Keith Paskewitz Webmaster

       Lynn Fehr announced that there is Indoor Flying every Thursday 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Community of Christ Gym.

       Anthony Rich drew Keith Paskewitz’s name for the Raffle of the SE5 ¼ Scale Model.

       With no further business the meeting adjourned at 8:45 PM.

The Cobras R/C Club is made up of a friendly and helpful group of people.  We have a large grass field that is well maintained and is large enough to take off and land either North/South or East/West.  Not only that but there is nothing to run into when you are flying.  It’s all level open ground.  We have a map to the field so that you will be able to find your way.  The Cobras Field is on the west side of I-29 South of the Bellevue exit.  All but the last couple of miles or so are hard surface roads.  We also have posted on the Field the emergency number to give to the 911 operator so that the emergency unit can quickly find the Field.  That number is 54802. It could be very important if someone had a heart attack or other serious problem.  Be sure to come out to the Field and enjoy the food, flying and camaraderie. If you would like to show everyone your newest creation, that took so much work to build, then bring it to the Cobras Meeting for show and tell. The meetings are the first Wednesday of the month.  In January we combine the meeting with dinner at the Holliday Party.  If you wish to join the Cobras download an application form.
