February, 2008 Minutes



February 6, 2008


 President Larry Puls called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM at American Legion Post # 2.
Secretary Lynn Fehr read the minutes for the January 2, 2008 dinner and meeting. A motion was made to accept the minutes as read. Seconded and carried.
The secretary read the minutes from the Executive Committee meeting of February 6, 2008. A motion was made to accept the Executive Committee minutes as read. Seconded and carried.
Treasurer Dale Parker gave the Treasurerís report. Dale gave the 2008 projected budget report to 13 members present. A motion was made to accept the treasurerís report as well as the projected budget for 2008. Seconded and carried.



George Eheman gave a review of the old Timers Fun Flys. He stated electric planes of any type would be welcome.
Lynn said he would check if we would be able to fly indoors all summer at Community of Christ Church.



Larry Bailey stated that Dan Cramer would like to have an all-electric Fun Fly on June 28, 2008 at the C.O.B.R.A.S. Field. Hours would be from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Food will be available on the field.
Dale Parker gave suggestions on how to improve our road for all weather usage. He suggested we crown the road to have a high center for drainage. Terry Lamm stated he would donate money toward the road improvements.
With no further business a motion was made to adjourn at 7:45 PM. Seconded and carried.




Terry Lamm showed his Dynaflite SE-5 Biplane. He explained the changes he made as well as how he painted it with latex House paint sprayed on.
Ed Splittgerber showed his wing in construction of a, Albatross Seaplane which will be in U.S. Coast Guard Colors.
Larry Bailey showed his new 3D Foam AT10 b-2.
Keith Paskewitz showed his 3D Electric Indoor Foam Plane.
Larry Puls showed his SE-5 E-Flite foam Bi-Plane.

The Cobras R/C Club is made up of a friendly and helpful group of people.  We have a large grass field that is well maintained and is large enough to take off and land either North/South or East/West.  Not only that but there is nothing to run into when you are flying.  Itís all level open ground.  We have a map to the field so that you will be able to find your way.  The Cobras Field is on the west side of I-29 South of the Bellevue exit.  All but the last couple of miles or so are hard surface roads.  We also have posted on the Field the emergency number to give to the 911 operator so that the emergency unit can quickly find the Field.  That number is 54802. It could be very important if someone had a heart attack or other serious problem.  Be sure to come out to the Field and enjoy the food, flying and camaraderie. If you would like to show everyone your newest creation, that took so much work to build, then bring it to the Cobras Meeting for show and tell. The meetings are the first Wednesday of the month.  In January we combine the meeting with dinner at the Holliday Party.  If you wish to join the Cobras download an application form.
